Boonava started out originally as a solution for Negative Penguin Media, as the main content management system. Boonava 1 was a multiuser application that allowed a number of podcasters the facilities to login and post their shows. The front end of the Negative Penguin Media website dynamically generated shows, RSS feeds for syndication and handled commenting on various episodes and shows.
Negative Penguin unfortunately closed, but the core program was left. Since then, Boonava has been developed as a Content Management System (CMS) for businesses and small websites. Boonava has been developed in MYSQL and PHP. It has been developed with 3 things in mind;
- Simplicity to the user
- Search Engine Optimisation
- Simple Template integration
There are many great Content Management Systems out there, and that the developers of Boonava enjoy using. These systems are fine for sophisticated users, however, for basic business owners, they require simple simplicity - in other words, really simple, really easy to use. Making changes to pages from with Boonava is as simple as logging into the Boonava administration panel and clicking on the page desired.
Other Content management systems may have hidden modules and add-on components that make them truly search engine optimised. Boonava has been built on a framework that is designed to be highly popular with Major Search Engines, such as Google. Boonava creates a very popular styled URL for search engines to archive; it also supports unique page META tags. Along with a number of other small tricks, Boonava generates a very well optimised website for search engines.
Perhaps the most important part of any website is its style, or template. Boonava uses a template based system that has also been built for simplicity. Developers and Designers of Boonava love the simple method of creating one template file, modifying only a few variables, and being able to deploy a whole website in a matter of minutes.
Currently, Boonava is available on a "per-request" basis. There are plans to make this incredible software available as an open source project; however that time has not yet come. When all internal bugs are cleaned up, and some other security precautions are adhered to.
